Babylon IP guards IP based video-conferences and Voice over IP against unauthorized onlooker and eavesdropper. Not much bigger than a wallet, the latest model is close to the maximum wire speed, working in the encryption mode. With a throughput of more than 70 Mbps, Babylon IP is best prepared for future developments with respect to broadband suitability.

The new developed “TIGER mode” integrates the encryption device in any network environment without modifying the IP routing configuration, thus ensuring usability and transparency. As far as the establishment of the tunnel and the encryption are concerned, the new AuDIT mode (Automatic Detection/Configuration of Intelligent Tunnels) provides more comfort to the user: By using this mode, Babylon IP does not establish a tunnel with the counterpart, unless it has identified the device as compatible to AuDIT. The call will be encrypted automatically, while the current status of Babylon IP is shown on the LCD display.

The Babylon IP encryption processes do not show any delay periods (so-called latency periods), which may reduce the quality of voice transmissions. Furthermore, Babylon IP manages to pass firewalls: to establish the connecting tunnel, it uses the IPSec standard, generally accepted by Firewalls. By using this so-called Firewall Traversal, modifications of the firewall configuration and resulting security risks are history.

Since any rotating components and fans were left out, the latest product of Safe-com operates absolutely noiselessly, ideal for use with noise-sensitive videoconference equipment as well as for Voice over IP. Its compact size and its energy saving combined with its efficiency offer additional fields of application, for example surveillance cameras.

Safe-com Babylon IP supports several encryption algorithms, including AES encryption with a key length of up to 256 Bit and Triple-DES encryption with a key length of up to 192 Bit. Additional features such as firewall and VPN make the Safe-com Babylon IP an attractive complete security package for any size of networks, ranging from home office to international networks.
