Babylon SAT encrypts satellite communication provided by the services Inmarsat ISDN (M4/Fleet/GAN) and Inmarsat B (High Speed), thus offering secure communication in places where no adequate fixed line infrastructure is available, such as ships and oil platforms, as well as whenever the user must often change geographical location.

All ISDN models of the Babylon-Family provide the encryption method Triple-DES with a key length of 168 bit  The models Basic, 4xBRI and SAT support also the encryption algorithm AES with key length of up to 256 Bit.
