Any device with its Bluetooth connection turned on may be susceptible to a variety of attacks, which allow the misuse of the cell phone. For example the “Bluesnarfing” attack allows unauthorized access to stored data, e.g. calendar, contact list, photos and text messages, but also to the identity code of the device. It is recommended to deactivate the Bluetooth feature by default, and to activate it only for concrete use. In use Bluetooth should always be set to "hidden". The paring PIN should always be a letter-figure combination of at least 64 Bit, to ensure the efficacy of the cryptographic security mechanisms. |
